Dec 11, 2012 The best email app to easily organize your Gmail, Outlook (Hotmail), AOL and Yahoo accounts. Regardless of your email address, you can experience the Yahoo Mail app's beautiful design, easy-to-use interface and lightning fast speed.
Hello, As of this morning I have been unable to send mail from Apple's Mail application on my laptop (running OS X 10.11.6). Opening Connection Doctor shows that neither of my Yahoo accounts can connect to their SMTP servers. I am able to connect to the IMAP servers and recieve email.
I can send email through the web browser or from Apple's iOS mail application. The FAQ instructs me to enable ' Allow apps that use less secure sign in' but that option does not exist on my Account Security page. Has the option moved or been removed in an update?
Is there a new procedure for connecting a third party mail application to Yahoo mail? Thanks, Josh.

This problem has not been solved. I have followed all the instructions, worked with Apple Techs and engineers and still STMP does not work for outgoing mail. Apple insists that it is a Yahoo server problem. Yahoo Customer support via a one e-mail a day just repeats the same line, but no success. Incoming mail does work, but with a twist. Sometimes if I move a message from my Mac Inbox to another folder, usually trash but also to another folder, 10 minutes later or so it reappears in my Inbox. But low and behold, if I go to the web and look at Yahoo mail, the returned message actually overwrites a new message that I cannot see in my Mac Inbox.
What I see on the Web Yahoo page is the new message with the trashed email where it is supposed to be. (Everything on my iPhone works fine) If I delete the message from my Max Inbox, the Trash folder shows two deleted messages, same sender, etc.
Yahoo's messaging lives on. Moment Editorial/Getty Images It's been a busy week for Yahoo. First, Verizon signed an for the internet pioneer. Then on Wednesday, Yahoo's for Windows and Mac desktops. The desktop version of the app, which first made it to mobile devices in December, brings new features designed to streamline sharing and interaction with friends.
Features of the upgraded platform include the ability to 'unsend' messages when you hit enter a bit too hastily, drag-and-drop image sharing and the ability to search for animated.gifs to include in your messages. The messaging market, once an easy win for Yahoo, has shifted dramatically over the past few years. Texting and apps that enable instant conversations such as Whatsapp, Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook Messenger have skyrocketed in popularity, leaving standbys like Yahoo Messenger to struggle.
If you were still using the old Yahoo Messenger desktop app, it's time to upgrade. The legacy service will.
